Everyday Cyclist Nutrition Success

Everyday Cyclist Gets 2 Hours Faster (at 57)...

"Graeme, My riding buddies all listened to your "Tell All Nutrition Consult" and they were curious to see how it would all work out--especially that crazy idea of no breakfast before a 155 mile ride!

I followed your Cyclo-FUEL In-Ride Tips and Menu Plan for the Climb to Kaiser as well as your tips from the consult. It worked out better than I ever could have imagined.

I have been doing the Climb to Kaiser for the past 17 years. My fastest time before today was a little over 13 hours (and that was 15 years ago when I was age 42). Today I finished in 11 hours 16 minutes-almost 2 hours faster. I am in good shape this year, but a lot of the difference was what I ate during the ride thanks to your recommendations and insight. I felt strong the whole way (or as strong as is reasonable for a 155 mile ride with 13,500 feet of climbing--one thing that makes Kaiser tougher than some rides with similar amounts of climbing is that about 11,000 feet of the climbing is packed into about 55 miles on the way up to Kaiser Pass). I never felt sick or weak like has happened in the past. In the past my stomach is usually too sensitive to even eat the post ride meal--not so today.

Anyway, thanks for helping me out. Cyclo-FUEL and your help made a huge difference."

No More Group Ride Bonking...

"Graeme, I wanted to give you an update since our conversation last Wednesday about fueling. I have ridden twice since our conversation and I am glad to report your advice has helped. The first ride was a 25 miler. Normally I am a 17 MPH rider. I was able to maintain 17.9 avg for this ride. The second ride was the 53 miler that cause me the problems from last week. I followed your formula and really noticed the difference. I found myself having to hold back at the start of the ride, i.e. not burning my matches too soon. I was able to maintain a 17.2 avg on this ride and I was in the lead group at the end of the ride. Thanks for your help getting this straightened out for me. I feel as if I have recovered all of the money I have spent for the Platinum Club Membership. Thanks for being there,"
